The USFSA SKATE WITH U.S. Program

The SKATE WITH U.S. program was designed by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA). It is a beginning ice skating program that is fun, challenging, and rewarding. Participation in the program will enable beginning skaters of all ages to learn the fundamentals of the sport and begin a lifetime commitment to health and fitness.

The figure below lays out the basic program structure.

Why Should I Join "SKATE WITH U.S."?

Figure skating is one of the world's greatest sports! A combination of athletics and artistry, participation in skating can be very satisfying. Skating in Basic Skills is fun, wholesome and therapeutic. It can also improve coordination and balance, stimulate your heart and circulation, relieve stress and build muscles. Plus, skating is a good way to meet people. Regardless of age, it is a great sport for everyone... children, teens, adults and seniors. It is a sport that can last a lifetime!

Whether your goal is to aim for the Olympics, improve your overall health and fitness, enjoy the social aspects of skating or just to have fun, you are sure to realize those goals by joining the USFSA's Skate With U.S. program!

What Do I Get From The "SKATE WITH U.S." Program?

When you join Skate With U.S. through a club or a rink, the director of that program will register you with the USFSA as an official USFSA Basic Skills Member. You will receive the following items from the USFSA to make your skating experience more fun and rewarding:

* Official Basic Skills member patch
* Year patch, denoting membership year
* Basic Skills merchandise order forms

As you complete each level, you are eligible to receive a colorful embroidered test patch or an attractive certificate signifying your accomplishment. You may also be eligible to participate in a "Compete With U.S." competition hosted by sponsoring clubs and rinks.

How Can I Join The "SKATE WITH U.S." Program?

Skate With U.S. is offered at many rinks and clubs across the country. Contact your local rink or club to see if they offer the USFSA Basic Skills Program.
